Obama at Notre Dame...

I was going to blog about this days ago, when it first came out, but, well, life's been a little crazy... more on that later...

Anyway, pro-lifers have been making their voices heard about the outrage we feel for one of the United States most well known Catholic Universities INVITING the most pro-death politician, who happens to also be our current president, to speak at their commencement address. I, personally have notified and encouraged the alumni that I happen to know and be related to, to speak up, as well, and invite their friends to do the same...

You can catch up with the latest at the Creative Minority Report.

I think it is very closed-minded and ignorant that anyone would refer to President Obama as "the most pro-death politician." I thought that spot would have been covered by Adolf Hitler, but apparently not. Obama is a highly educated man, just because he supports abortion does not make him the devil. A commencement address has nothing to do with abortion, or anything regarding laws, for that matter. I highly doubt that Obama will be speaking about abortion in his address. I don't see what the big deal is.

Dennise,
Thank you for stopping by.

Just because one states what is true, and some don’t want to hear it does not make one close minded. The fact remains that President Obama IS “the most pro-death politician” ever elected. In his very short time in office he has done more to support the culture of death than any president previous. Millions of unborn lives will be cut short before they have ever been given the chance to breathe air just because of his rescinding of the Mexico City Policy (funding over-seas abortions, with MY tax dollars, I might add, against MY will…) and now with his support for embryonic stem cell research (which has NEVER had any success, whereas ADULT stem cell research has had MANY successes.). Contrary to what President Clinton thinks, or contrary to what he is trying to re-define, life begins at conception and ALL embryos are fertilized… That’s WHY they are called “embryos” and NOT “sperm” or “egg”… but I digress…

No one is questioning President Obama’s education. I am questioning his ethics. And Notre Dame is a Catholic University. They proclaim themselves as a Catholic University. Many parents send their kids and students attend Notre Dame BECAUSE it is Catholic. So, BE Catholic! That means holding to the core beliefs of our Faith which include a culture of life mentality that respects life at ALL stages, from conception until natural death. By intentionally inviting someone to give the commencement address (NOT ‘dialogue’, as Fr. Jenkins had alluded to…)AND presenting him with an honorary degree, thus holding him in some form of esteem, when he in no way adheres to any of our basic core beliefs of the value of life, it IS SCANDAL. President Obama has made NO secret of his stance on abortion. It is PUBLIC knowledge. and I believe the USCCB has been pretty clear as to the Church’s stance. The two don’t meet. I don’t care if President Obama speaks of pink bunnies in tutus’… the two stances oppose one another. Fr. Jenkins has given a slap in the face to the Bishops, our Pope and to it’s graduating students by inviting the President to give the commencement address and honoring him brings scandal by giving a mixed message to The University, to himself and to devoted Catholics world wide. It is no wonder so many Catholics are confused about what the church teaches… and for many, like me, that IS the “big deal”.

God Bless!
