Krispy Kreme's Freedom of Choice Ad

Pro-lifers by the thousands are well aware by now of President Elect Obama's promise to sign FOCA first thing when he steps in to office next Tuesday, giving women the "right" to kill their unborn child in the womb anytime during pregnancy... So was it just ignorance that Krispy Kreme doughnuts decided to use this same terminology as an ad campaign??....

"Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE: KKD) is honoring
American's sense of pride and freedom of choice on Inauguration Day, by offering
a free doughnut of choice to every customer on this historic day, Jan. 20. By
doing so, participating Krispy Kreme stores nationwide are making an oath to
tasty goodies--just another reminder of how oh-so-sweet 'free' can
be."

Not only did they USE the terminology to coincide with Inauguration Day but also only two days before the anniversary date of Roe -v- Wade... The whole thing just kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth...

You can contact Krispy Kreme and let them know what you think here. And if you haven't already, please join or continue to pray that President Obama will have a change of heart....

They're quite obviously talking about freedom of choice in selecting a new president. It has nothing to do with abortion! Though "Freedom of Choice" has come to stand for the freedom to choose abortion, it does not always mean that when used in a sentence. Poor wording? Perhaps. But don't assume that any time someone says "Freedom of Choice" it refers to abortion...

Hi Blake! Quite obviously, you are correct! They ARE talking about a choice of doughnut... I just thought it was, as you say, a bad choice of wording, given how much press that FOCA has been given and what it means to those of us who take this particular issue to heart... I know I'm not the MOST creative thinker in the world, and my college major was NOT in marketing, but it seems they could have come up with better a play on the words "Free" and "Freedom" to celebrate the inauguration of our new President without the inclusion of the word "Choice"... just my opinon..
